I have used XLR8 two times. The first time in a 1acre field and also in my yard which has buffalo and fescue grass. The first application worked great. I could see the dead crab and foxtail grasses die off and the buffalo come through. The field was mailnly foxtail so it looked pretty bleak after the foxtail died. I'm going to plant native grass this fall. I could not be happier with this product. Finally I'm getting it under control. I live in the country and have a very large yard so it has been time consuming to keep up with it.

It works as it should. I only use it for one application then wait for the grass to take control. It holds down the growth of the weedy grass.

I sprayed Drive XLR8 on Sunday, July 9th. Temp was ~78 but clearly heading to the mid 90s that day. I used roughly 2oz per gallon. The change to the crabgrass was obvious by Wednesday morning. The weeds took a nose dive by Friday and were dead by Saturday morning. I took daily pictures hoping to load them here but don't have that option. Drive XLR8 worked extremely well for me.

This product works great. I didn't know they had anything available to kill crabgrass in a yard. None of the grass was killed and all the crabgrass was eliminated. Highly recommend.

Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer did a pretty good job at killing my crabgrass, but some it did not kill. I will probably have to repeat treatment again.

I read the reviews and q's & a's before applying. I think using the surfactant along with the Drive is very important. The crabgrass turned brown & died within a few days. It is advised to then remove the dead crabgrass. We have so much! I have removed most from the front area, but may not be able to remove all of it - just due to time constraints. I will be using a pre-emergent this spring. If I don't remove the dead crabgrass from the remaining areas of the yard I will be able to see if that step makes a difference when I compare results next summer between the front area and the rest.

Have the good old strong stuff, drive xlr8 works as directed. Like I said, strong crabgrass, I knew I would need a second treatment,, no problem This stuff WORKS!!

Followed instructions and could see results in about 3 days. Crab grass is dead. Used on fescue, which is fine, no negative impact.

If you want to kill crab grass without hurting your fescue, use this. Crabgrass will brown and disappear in 10 days

I have been using this on major sections of the lawn that are covered with crabgrass. I use it a day or two before forcasted rain, and it has been working perfectly. It kills the crabgrass and does not harm the turf grass. It takes 3-4 days to see results, and a few more days to completely kill the crabgrass. I have been using it with the DyneAmic surfacant. The combination has been very effective. I just have a 2 gallon tank sprayer (nothing fancy), and spray a section at a time.

I applied Drive XLR8 on a Saturday morning, along with the Prime Source Duo Stick Adjuvant, on my fescue lawn that had several patches of mature crabgrass. By Monday afternoon, 95% of the areas I spot-sprayed indicated crabgrass that was dying (light tan color) and wilting. I mixed a gallon of the product according to the label directions. Bottom line, this is Herbicide that works !

Would not recommend or buy this product again. Some of the leaves turned yellow, but the plants did not die. I still have patches of healthy looking crabgrass.

Should not give it any stars. I called the "pros" at this business, and this was recommended for killing the crabgrass in my zoysia lawn. I read the entire product brochure that came with the product and followed the mixing directions carefully. I sprayed with a hand held pump up sprayer being sure to agitate the sprayer frequently as directed. I waited two weeks. No signs of the crab grass weakening. I repeated the process spraying only the crab grass this time in order spare my lawn from too much stress. It has been 10 days since the second application. The crab grass is still looking hearty. Waste of my time and money! I called the company before the second spraying. I had some questions about other products for other issues and wanted to visit with a "pro" as they describe themselves. The phone person couldn't answer my questions, but promised to find out and call me back. I never heard from her, and it's been two weeks. Some "pro." Right!? I'm going to shop elsewhere.

Drive XLR8 killed crabgrass within days. It did yellow the Bermuda grass very bad for couple weeks. But works as advertised.

I had reserved an area of my back yard this spring and the crabgrass had taken over before the rescue had a chance to germinate. I sprayed it yesterday and today the cg is already yellowing out.

Found this same product at a local co-op for $60.00. Disappointed on line buying was higher than retail store. Product works as advertised. Drive XLR8 is a high concentrated chemical and goes on at a very low rate per 1000 sq.ft., which extends the coverage over thousands of feet out of one half gallon. Also this product works on migrant broad leaf weeds, so it's a bonus product as well.

I can't really rate this product by itself. The reason being is that I used this product in combination with Tenacity and Bonide brush killer to nuke my yard this fall as a post emergent treatment. The reason I chose this product in my mix was because it covered the Quinclorac category. Which from previous attempts did a great job killing any of the crawling kind of weeds. But, It didn't do much for clovers or flowery type weeds (which it might not be targeted towards, that is why I added the other two). But with the trio I use I can say that all the weed are dead in my yard, and the remaining grass is still healthy and ready to reclaim the lawn.

I bought this because my son in law recommended it. Put it down over a week ago and it seems like some of the crabgrass is turning yellow and some red. A lot has not been affected as of now. I mixed them correctly and it looks like I am going to have to reapply. I will update if I can remember.

Followed directions and after two applications the crabgrass started yellowing. Only problem was that surrounding Bermuda grass also died.

So just so everyone is clear this only works on certain lawn/grass types so please read the label completely. This works very well for crabgrass which is really tough to kill with your normal big box store “lawn weed killer”. My crabgrass showed signs of distress 2-3 days after application and 6 days later its all dried up and for the most part dead. Now i dis use this as a broadcast spray on my lawn to be sure i got all crabgrass. I used it with duo stick surfactant as instructed on the label and it worked well! Only thing i can say that it doesn't do so well is targeting broad leaf weeds, it seemed to not affect them at all, i even did a test were i drenched some broad leaf weeds with it and days later they still are growing and look healthy. That is the only reason why i gave it 4 stars because it is labeled to target broad leaf weeds as well.

Used with recommended surfactant "DynAmic". Weeds dead within a few days. Tall Fescue surrounding still alive. Good stuff. Not sure if it works as well without the surfactant, but am taking no chances --

After little success with several crabgrass control products, I used Drive XLR8. Within 2 days of application the crabgrass was browning and within a week the crabgrass was dead. Great product.

Hi All Drive XLR8 is by far the very best crabgrass herbicide that I have ever used. Killed the crabgrass with in a week and continued killing new sproutings for a n additional two weeks. I would recommend it to every one every where there is a crabgrass problem.

This product works like advertised. It kills crabgrass of all sizes and quantity, and nothing else. It didn't hurt my lawn and didn't even kill any other weeds. The crabgrass was dying within 2 days. I had to spray for those weeds separately as I didn't combine the Drive with anything else other than a surfactant because I wanted to see just what it would do. If I ever have to use Drive again, I would combine it with something like Crossbow. This stuff works when used as directed. It is a little pricey, but if you want to rid your lawn of crabgrass, this is the product to buy.

Crabgrass was choking out my newly seeded yard. I mixed a half gallon of Drive xlr8 with 20 gallons of water and a pint of seed oil surfactant per acre and 3 days later the crabgrass started turning yellow. By the tenth day 90% of it was dead or dying. 3 weeks later some of the crabgrass is trying to rally but I'm sure a second application would cure that. And the rye, bluegrass and fescue was virtually unharmed and is now the dominant growth in the yard.

I very carefully applied Drive XLR8 mixed with DyneAmic surfactant directly onto late-emergent crabgrass. It killed all of the crabcrass but it also turned my tiff bermuda yellow-green in the treated areas. There were yellow-green spots all over my lawn. After first mowing, things are starting to look a little better. So, the product works but you must be careful when spot-treating. Next time, I will increase the dilution.
