    Q
Can I eat herbs if they get sprayed accidentally with Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate?
My neighbor has hired a company to spray your product next to my organic herb and vegetable garden. My garden is intended to attract pollinators. What can I do to screen or minimize the damage to my garden and two small dogs. The advance notice form the company gives no time of day.
    A

Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate is not meant for use on edibles due to the inert ingredients in it. We would recommend contacting the manufacturer directly at 888-241-8088 for additional information on off label use.

    Q
Can you mix Essentria IC3 insecticide with Suspend SC for roaches?
    A

Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate and Suspend SC are both insecticides and there would be no valid reason to use them mixed together, one is just natural and the other synthetic.  Applying multiple insecticides together does not make either work better and can actually have negative effects of making an area more repellent where insects will avoid the treated areas and neither can do the job of killing them then.  Instead it would be best to use either one along with a roach bait and insect growth regulator as directed in our guide here for roach treatments.

    Q
Will Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate kill bugs in the washer for laundry, such as mites and how many ounces would you put in?
    A
No, we do not recommend applying Essentria IC3 insecticide concentrate to your laundry in the washer. It is only labeled for pest control treatment in and around the home. The heat alone from the water in the washer and the heat from the dryer should be sufficient enough to kill most all insects.

    Q
I left Essentria IC3 mixture for over 24hr in my plastic sprayer what could happen?
    A
Leaving Essentria IC3 dilution in sprayer over 24 hours could cause breakdown of sprayer components and possible buildup of particles to clog the sprayer. Also, the effectiveness of the product will start to breakdown after 24 hours.

  • Asked by Jeff from Lake Wylie, Sc

    Q
I am bidding on a project at a marina for spider control.
I am bidding on a project at a marina which has covered boat slips. There are 9 docks total, most averaging 65' long extending from the shore. Average height of covered dock ranges from 35' from dock floor to top of roof (inside). Boats are moored or on lifts. Most boats are covered with canvas snap down covers. Most boat are obviously fiberglass. Questions: 1) will this product cause any harm to either the boat surface (fiberglass) and/or the boat cover as the mist will fall down on the canvas cover and the boat itself? 2) what is the recommended mixture ratio to water for summertime heavy infestation spiders? 3) how often should I plan to retreat the docks 4) will IC3 have residual knockdown after application?
    A
Essentria IC3 should not pose any harm to any surface if applied as directed on the product label. As always, we suggest that you test a smaller inconspicuious area first.  The product should be mixed at 2 to 8 ounces per gallon of water and applied at the rate of 2 gallons per 1000 square feet or until area is thoroughly wet. Essentria IC3 does have an outdoor residual of 30 days and 90 days indoors.

  • Asked by Anthony from Wetumpka
    05/30/2016
    Q
Is Essentria IC3 water friendly and will it control flies and mosquitoes outside my home?
    A

For Mosquito Control, Essentria IC3 is labeled to be used around water areas such as docks, boats, ponds, but also used for periemter treatments around the home on trees, shrubs, and bushes. .

Fly Control is best obtained using a fly trap such as the Flies Be Gone Trap. This trap is to be placed in direct sunlight, 30ft away from the area you are wanting to rid flies of and placed 5ft off the ground. These traps are disposoble so you just throw them away after 4-6 weeks.

    Q
Is it safe to spray Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate on to bales of horse hay?
We received a load of small square bales infested with straw mites. I am wondering if it is safe to spray directly onto the bales of hay.
    A

Essentria IC3 is not labeled to be applied to anything edible so we would not recommend this.  PyGanic Crop Protection EC 1.4 II would be a better option.

  • Asked by Debe from Florida

    Q
Should you use IC3 with Talstar P?
    A

You could potentially add 1-2 oz of the Essentria IC3 to a gallon of Talstar P dilution for extra knockdown of target pests. However, these insecticides cover pretty much the same target pests, so most customers will not use both at the same time. Essentria IC3 is safe to use in more areas, than Talstar P, such as near boat docks or bodies of water, while Talstar P will have a longer residual than Essentria.

    Q
Do you have any effective mosquito sprays that do not kill honey bees?
    A

Mavrik would be the best product to use for Mosquito control when concerned about bees and butterflies. Mavrik Perimeter is for outdoor use and is known for its immediate control of a variety of insects including stubborn mosquitoes and ants. With Mavrik Perimeter there is no lingering odor or visible residue and when dry it is non toxic and non repellent to honey bees once the application is dry.

    Q
Can I spray Essentria IC3 on avocado trees to eradicate mites? We want to sell the fruit.
    A
Essentria IC3 cannot be applied to fruit or vegetables directly, especially ones that will be harvested for human consumption.  However, we do have a product made specifically for food bearing trees which is called Malathion 57%.  It can be applied right to the food on the tree,  For each plant type there is a cut off time before harvesting, which is usually 7 days.  Here is a link to the product label

    Q
What is the best application method to treat for ticks using Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate?
I have a large area to treat for ticks using essentria IC3. I am trying to figure out the most effective application method. Thermal fogging, forced air misting, or spraying?
    A

It would be best to apply Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate by sprayer. You could use a backsprayer like the Chapin 4 gallon backpack sprayer. By spraying you get a more even application.

    Q
Does Essentria IC3 have a smell?
    A

Essentria IC3 has a rather strong odor. It consists of multiple essential oils, including peppermint which give it a pleasant mint smell when applied. You may want to check out Evergreen Pyrethrum Concentrate. It is a natural product with very little smell that the SDS lists as “sweet surfactant odor.”

  • Asked by Mike from Dover, Nj

    Q
Will Essentria IC treat booklice and springtails?
    A

Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate is not labeled for springtails. If you are wanting to use a natural product for springtail elimination, EcoVia EC is a great option. Please take a look at our Springtail Control Guide for helpful tips regarding springtail control.

The best way to control booklice is by lowering the humidity in the infested areas which in turn will help eliminate the mold and fungus these insects need to survive. Infested furniture and carpeting should be thoroughly steam cleaned and vacuumed. You can spray your furniture with Sterifab to get rid of any lingering insects. You cannot spray anything on books so for those we recommend you find a way to heat treat them with a device like the Packtite or you can seal them loosely into bins with Nuvan Prostrips.
