Indoor plants need fertilizer just like outdoor plants, since all plants need the same basic nutrients to thrive. Since indoor plants receive less light and have limited space compared to outdoor plants, they have different fertilizer requirements. Complete fertilizers, or fertilizers that have nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, are a good choice for indoor plants. There are many formulas of complete fertilizers available, so choose carefully. Consider what type of plant you want to fertilize and what that plant needs to thrive, and choose a formula that will give your plant just enough of what it needs to avoid overfertilization.
