The insecticides found in the Ortho Home Defense are not harmful to plants, however you would need to keep it off of and outside the dripline of any edible vegetation such as a vegetable garden, herbs, or fruit trees.

Ortho Home Defense MAX Insect Killer Indoor & Perimeter should only be applied to cracks and crevices indoors and to the exterior perimeter foundation of the house. This product can be applied around baseboards where carpet is present, but it is not meant to be sprayed over all of the carpet. You want to make sure you apply it according to the product label and avoid any excessive spraying. We would recommend cleaning your carpet.

I purchase a bottle and the wand stop spraying so I purchased another bottle and the same thing happen to the wand again. It has fresh batteries and I am very careful with the wands. Please help.

I get that the spray - once dry - is not a problem to birds, but want to know if the insects that "acquire" the poison are then toxic to birds who may eat them.

We have an issue with Flour beetles (were late to notice... so these beetles appear to have spread all over the house...). Can we use this on the baseboards of our living room (hardwood floors)? The aerosol can be used as a crack and crevice treatment in the emptied cabinets around the shelves and the traps can be used to draw in and attract and trap the moths. It is critical that you inspect the area for infested items so that you can locate and eliminate the source of the infestation.
