    Can I mix Permethrin 36.8%, Biffen XTS, and NyGuard IGR?
    Can I combine the Permethrin 36.8%, Biffen XTS, and NyGuard IGR? We live in an area that is very affected by Lyme disease, and I want to make sure my family can play out in the yard without having to worry about ticks.

    Two insecticides like Permethrin SFR 36.8% and Bifen XTS should not be mixed together. Creating a pesticide mixture that is too string can backfire, causing insects to avoid the treated ares.  However, NyGuard IGR can be mixed with either of these alone.

    Can Permethrin SFR be sprayed into holes in a tree caused by boring grubs?
    Will it kill the tree if I squirt Permethrin directly into the bored holes?

    Permethrin SFR 36.8% can be applied to turf, trees and ornamentals for effective insect control.  It can be sprayed into or onto damage caused by boring insects,but it is not labeled for injecting or soil drenching as an application for live trees.  Always refer to the product label for the correct mix ratios and application rates.

    Help! My step son used this diluted in water to scrub our basement ceramic tile!!
    He was treating scabies and was cleaning his area - used this on the floor and now my floors have a very sticky residue all over them! He said it could be used on floors! I’m sure he didn’t use it correctly but I need to find out how to clean my floors now to get the sticky off!? Any ideas? Thanks so much!! Uuggggg!!!

    We would recommend using hot soapy water with a mild detergent to remove any unwanted residue.

    What product would be safe to use in a barn that houses horses and cats?
    We have a 3 stall barn that we use to house 2 horses and 2 barn cats. The barn has a dirt floor and is a wooden structure. We are worried about what type of pest control we should use. Can you recommend some? We have treated carpenter bees and wasps using typical products since they are above the ground level of the animals. We also have Lesser Mealworm Beetle/Yellow Mealworm in some part of the barn.

    We would recommend Permethrin SFR 36.8% for treatment around livestock and barns.  Permethrin SFR 36.8%, when used as directed on the product label, is safe to use directly on dogs and other animals (Do NOT apply to cats), barns and livestock areas. It is a concentrate you mix with water and apply using a hand pump sprayer.  Please reference the product label for further instructions and complete information.

    How effective is this for bed bugs?

    Permethrin SFR is labeled for bedbugs but you will need to use other products in conjunction with the Permethrin SFR to eliminate a bedbug infestation. We offer bedbug kits that contain all of the different products you need to eliminate bedbugs and retreatments should be done every 7-10 days until you do not receive a bite for 30 days.  We also highly recommend using mattress and boxspring encasements to help eliminate bedbug infestations.     Can Permethrin SFR 36.8% be used to treat clothes on skin? The military uses permethrin for this.
    The military uses a 40% concentration to treat uniform and other clothing. Can this product be used in the same manner or for the same application?

    Permethrin SFR is not labeled for use on clothing and is not formulated for such a use. We do carry a product called Tick Block that is specifically labeled for use on clothing.

    Is Permethrin SFR 36.8% the product you would recommend for treating the lawn for an active tick problem?
    SInce it has a residual effect it should help prevent future tick infestations too? Or is there another product you would recommend? Thanks

    Permethrin SFR 36.8% is labeled for ticks in yards and it will offer some residual effects as well. The Permethrin SFR 36.8% product label recommends that you mix the product with a surfactant to help the product better stick to the foliage that you are spraying.  Ticks may be reintroduced from surrounding areas on host animals. Retreatment may be necessary to achieve and/or maintain control during periods of high pest pressure. All of your pets should be treated with a product that is specifically labeled for use on pets for tick control.

    You can also help by creating a "tick safe zone" in your yard. You should have an area that is at least 9 ft wide between your yard and any wooded area. Trim back trees to allow as much sunlight as possible into your yard. Keep grass as short. Remove as much leaf litter as possible. A clearly defined, well manicured border between your yard and any wooded areas or weedy lots will reduce the chance of ticks infesting your yard.

    How do I apply Permethrin as a barrier against termite and carpenter ant infestations in the home?
    I would like to protect my home against further infestation from carpenter ants and termites. What are the best places to apply the product? Also, how do I apply the product to the interior of the basement and attic to control spiders and silverfish?

    Permethrin SFR is not labeled for indoor use. You could use our Carpenter Ant kit that contains Dominion 2L that will treat both termites and carpenter ants, as well as a protein based bait and sweet based bait that can be used indoors where you have seen the ant activity. You can use a product like Tempo SC Ultra indoors to control the spiders, silverfish and more. Please make sure to review the product labels before application.

    Can you recommend a product that can control ticks and other outdoor bugs like mosquitoes?

    Permethrin SFR would be great choice for outdoor tick and other insect control. Permethrin SFR is a broad spectrum insecticide that offers a quick knockdown of target pests as well as a long lasting residual that lasts for about 90 days indoors and 30 days outdoors. This product may be used indoors and outdoors on turf, lawns, and ornamentals. Please follow the product label for application instructions.

    Can Permethrin be used on wet ground? Do i need to remove my dogs to apply?
    It has rained a lot.

    You will want to keep the dogs out of the area while you do the treatment and until the entire treated area has dried. You will also want to make sure it is not going to rain for at least 6 hours after application of the product as well. It is okay for the ground to be a little wet from the rain but the wet ground will make the product take longer to dry. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Even though it doesn't say it kills bedbugs why is it that most insecticides have Permethin as the ingredient?
    A
    None of the insecticide concentrates that we recommend for bed bug control contain permethin as the ingredient or inert ingredients. We are unsure of where you have received this information but if you look at our Bed Bug Concentrates you can see the ingredients in each listed on every product page. You may see in our Bedlam Aerosol the ingredient permethrin as this formulation of the product mixed with its inert ingredients will work on bed bugs. Permethrin SFR has a completely different base and is formulated to be used on surfaces that will not contact skin for prolonged periods of time. While the active ingredient is the same the carrier is different and using Permethrin SFR on bedding like the Bedlam for bed bug control could lead to illness and skin irritations. You may be seeing that the ingredients in the bed bug products are Pyrethroids, which is a man made version of Pyrethrin which is the all natural ingredient derived from the crysanthymum plant.     If I use this does it need to be 1:1 to make a 5% solution? Also, what strength does Permethrin need to be to kill human and or animal mites on contact? To spray surfaces, bedding and furniture.

    Permethrin SFR cannot be used on humans or in residential areas to control mites. We recommend getting a proper identification of the mite by a local pest control or your local extension office.

    Solo 451 fogger and permethrin sfr 36.8 to treat noseeums at what mix do I use 1.23 oz per one us gallon ?
    The fogger also has a rate at which the formula is applied ? The box was really messed up, it looks like UPS had to repack the solo box. Everything looks ok. Have not started until I know the mix for lawn, bushes, garage, mangroves and fruit trees

    If you are treating around the perimeter of your home, foliage, ornamentals then you would mix 0.8 fluid ounce of Permethrin SFR 36.8% per gallon of water and apply with your Solo 451 Mist Blower.

    I want to spray for mosquitoes in my backyard with Permethrin SFR, how much to use?
    I have a patch of woods in the back of my backyard, and a lot of mosquitoes. I'd like to spray the grass and some of the bushes/tress close to the yard. How much Permethrin SFR should I use per gallon.

    Permethrin SFR is not labeled for general mosquito control so we do not recommend it for this use. We usually recommend using Bifen IT for mosquito control and it can be used with an IGR such as Pivot IGR to help sterilize the adults.
