Not a fan of having to use fungicide but root rot is no fun either. If u can't get rid of it organically then subdue is the one.

Fantastic product, worked as directed and saved my Japanese blueberry tree. I had extreme leaf drop and branch die back due to fungus in the soil. After four weeks my tree is lush and flourishing.

Read Full Answer »Subdue MAXX Fungicide is not labled for a soil treatment when treating for phytophthora. Per the product label it should be applied as a foliar treatment only. Also this would not be a product that we would recommend for that either as you would have to use such a miniscule amount when treating hedges as the label states to use it in 100 gallons of water. To be able to break that down would not be worth using. You could use Monterey Agri-Fos Fungicide. It is labeled for a soil drench at a rate of 2 to 4 tsp per gallon of water, and you would apply 1 gallon per sq yard. Follow the application with irrigation to get the product down to the roots of the plant. Read Full Answer »Per the product label of Subdue Maxx Fungicide: You would use 0.50 – 1.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft in 1-5 gallons of water. The amount of water is not set as it is just the carrier and will be however much it takes you to cover that area.  For best efficacy, 1/2 inch irrigation or rainfall is required within 24 hours after application. Within the rate range given for turf, use the lower rate for the shortest interval listed and the higher specifi ed rate for the longest interval. Under severe disease conditions, use the specifi ed highest rate and shortest interval. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions though depending the target disease you want to prevent.
