The Tomahawk Floating Turtle Trap Model 409 offers an efficient way to capture multiple turtles at the same time without harming them. It is constructed with durable aluminum ramps, along with 1 in. x 1 in. - 14 gauge coated mesh frame and advanced steel reinforcing rods measuring 1/4 inch, making it the sturdiest floating turtle trap in the market today. The material used on the wire mesh is identical to the one used in high-quality lobster pots, ensuring durability. The gravity trap panel tips into the compartment when the turtles climb up on the ramp to sun themselves, causing them to gently fall into the trap. You can also lure turtles to enter the trap by putting bait such as raw fish, beef cuts, worms and other meats inside. This trap weighs 21 lbs. and measures 24 inches long, 20 inches wide, and 18 inches tall. 6 in x 22 in flotation buoy is included.

Floating turtle trap
By John on 08/18/2018
I received it this week but won't be able to test it until fall and early next spring when temperatures are cooler. Right now they don't sun themselves in this hot weather. I gave it five stars because of experience with their large trap that operates partially submerged. Had excellent results with it and this floating models appears to be just as well made with quality components and material. I'm a diy but elected not to build my own since this was priced right and honestly not worth my trouble making one. My first was a 30 lb alligator snapping. It was caught in less than 2 hours. Unfortunately, I have many more to get out if my lake.....

Works awesome
By Richard on 07/21/2019
Took a little while to get trap. First two days nothing third day 14 turtles and fourth day 11 turtles. Have a lot more to get and four more ponds to use it in on the ranch. Just wish they made a larger trap in this style. I have some very large alligator snapping turtle in one of the pond. They look to big to fit in trap. P.s. I take the turtles and let them go in the river.

Turtle trap
By David on 03/06/2020
I have had the trap in the water for two weeks but nothing yet. I literally see around 40 turtles sunning on the bank. I actually see turtles sunning on the trap but never fall in. I went as far as putting dog food attached to the bottom but no luck. Not sure what I'm doing wrong I will check the trap this weekend to see If anything

Model 409 Review
By Rusty on 04/17/2020
It was easy to assemble. I really liked that. This is new to me so I wish it might have come with at least one or two bait bags. I have read that helps attract the turtles. So far so good as I have caught 2. As the weather heats up, I hope to catch more.
