    Q
Can Advion Cockroach Gel Bait be used outdoors?
The product information says that it can be used indoors and outdoors. I want to apply Advion gel bait outdoors around my home. Where specifically should I apply the product for maximum effect?
    A

    Q
I have used your product in another home and it worked great but is not working in my apartment.
I used Advion cockroach bait when I was living somewhere else and every morning I saw dead cockroaches but I am living in a new apartment I bought it again and I used it and it is not working. Why every day I see cockroaches not dead but running around
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel should be reapplied once every two weeks. You will want to first clean up previous bait placements and then apply the bait. Please take a few moments to read our article How to Get Rid of Roaches to learn how to implement a successful roach control program.

    Q
Will the Advion Roach Bait harm my pet parrot if applied in the same room?
I have a little quaker parrot and they're notoriously sensitive to manufactured chemicals and scents, they can even die from people cooking with non-stick pans or using scented candles, I live in a relatively small apartment and would need to apply this product in the same room her cage is in, she doesn't like being on the ground so there's no chance she would ingest it but I want to know if this has any fumes or scent that could harm my bird before I give it a try
    A

Advion Roach Bait gel should be safe to use around any pet as long as you keep the application out of reach of the pet. Since you are applying a gel and not a spray, there is nothing released into the air where sensitive animals such as birds could run into respiratory issues. That being said,

I have a roach infestation. How should I apply IGR along with Advion bait stations?
We have tried many products and even had a local company spray for at least a year. We have seen the most effect with Advion. I want to couple this with an IGR. How should I go about this?
    A

Below is our guide for how to eliminate roaches. If you scroll down, it gives a visual of where to apply the Advion Cockroach Gel Bait. As far as applying any other products such as an IGR, they can be applied in close proximity but not directly on top of

    Q
Should I use this product if I have only seen 2 roaches in a 2 month period? Will it attract more?
I've never dealt with cockroaches and I just bought my home 4 months ago. I had a neighbor move and then they appeared. I have seen two cockroaches now and both were at clearly different life cycles.
    A

One of our roach control kits would be recommended for roach control. These professional kits includes non-staining, low odor concentrated insecticide for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get R…

    Q
What if one of my hamsters eats it?
Both my kids own a Syrian Hamster, can this bate harm or kill one of my children's pets? I know it only has enough poison to kill a roach. Seeing how my roaches are German and American, and they are extremely hard to get rid of. If this poison does what it says, then it has to be strong. So that being said can it in any way harm one of my children's hamsters? I mean harm them in ANY way.
    A

A hamster can be harmed after ingesting the Advion Roach Bait Gel as they can be pretty sensitive to chemicals.  We would recommend only applying in areas that the hamster does not have access to.  We have a great video here that shows where to apply the bait. You can see the video by clicking h

    Q
I have cockroaches in an apartment. I don’t have them in cabinets, in the kitchen at all or underneath cabinets..
As said I have no cockroaches in cabinets, upper or lower. The baseboards have some cracks. I can’t move the refrigerator so I place bait sticky traps right next to the bottom of the fridge. I want to put my max for bait on a piece of foil and put about a foot apart from the traps. Can I do that since I can’t move the fridge?
    A

Yes, you can place Advion Cockroach Gel Bait on foil, in any area where you have not applied another insecticide. Doing so will actually allow for easy removal.

    Q
I used the gel and granules did I overdo it?
I put it about every 4 inches away from each dot and then I put granules where I couldn't get to...under my sink and stove and storage space. I see dead ones but they are still around. Any suggestions, I have had it applied for about 2 weeks
    A

Usually, bait placements are done every foot to 2 feet apart around a kitchen or area roaches are within, but if you have a heavy population and feel more bait placements and closer proximity are needed that is fine. As long as the roaches are taking to the bait you applied then they will be impacte…

    Q
How do I dispose of the tiny bits of dried gel bait I remove?
This site says you are supposed to clean up any dried-on bits of Advion roach gel bait when reapplying every two weeks. How do you dispose of the leftover bits? Do you throw them in the regular trash, or store them in a container to take to hazardous waste?
    A

Per the Advion Cockroach Gel Bait label:  Wastes resulting from the use of this product must be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.

    Q
    Clean up dead roaches immediately?
I applied Advion in infested areas and have seen many dead or dying roaches that have clearly ingested the bait. Might be a silly question but is it better to clean up these roaches immediately or allow them to be eaten by other roaches to further spread the bait?
    A

That's a great question, and you can honestly approach it from either method. Many customers prefer to clean up the dead roaches in the open while knowing inevitably, some will die behind walls and baseboards to help serve the purpose of spreading the Advion Cockroach Gel Bait through the cons…

I bought this on 4/21. I still have an opened tube and 1 full tube left. Can I still reuse that?
    A

The shelf life and expiration are all dependent on how you store the product once you receive it. The product you…

    Q
I saw a couple of baby roaches coming in through my bathroom air exhaust and was thinking about putting some Advion out.
I've seen like 4-5 recently. But I am also scared to put the gel bait and attract way more. What do you recommend I use or do? Thank you.
    A

Advion Cockroach Gel Bait cannot be applied directly to the air exhaust and using it near it might dry it up really fast. Bait will attract roaches that are in close proximity to the bait. If you have a roach infestation please read over our Roach Control Guide for treatment options.

    Q
We live on a wooded lot in the hot and humid Southeast. Should we leave gel bait out year-round as a preventative?
We have large outdoor roaches that like to live in our crawlspace and attic. Wondering if leaving some bait in those areas year-round would prevent future infestations? Thank you.
    A

You do not need to apply Advion Cockroach Gel Bait if you do not have an active infestation. If you see any sign of activity you can put out the bait but until then we would recommend treating with a preventative insecticide like Talstar P around the base boards window sills and door frames.

Can I put boric acid trails near Advion Arenas - under the stove?
    A

Ideally, when using a product like Advion Cockroach Gel Bait you wouldn't want to use anything that could contaminate the bait and make it unattractive to consume, and you want products that will work with the bait effectively to move through the colony to other roaches. Q
Should I apply Advion if I have had a roach problem in the past?
The last time I saw a roach was about 3 months ago, in a kitchen drawer. I applied the last of the Advion bait I had from a previous purchase and I haven't seen any roaches or droppings since. Am I inviting trouble by being proactive and re-applying now before the hot weather comes? Should I just wait until I see a roach or droppings again? For years now I have seen cockroaches in my kitchen and bathroom, especially in summer, but months can pass without seeing one. Thank you in advance for your response.
    A

You should still use the Advion Cockroach Gel Bait, roaches can survive for several months without food and up to two weeks without water. I'll also link a prevention guide below and that will help you more on eliminating these pests.

Do I need to cover up or box up all my clothes so nothing gets infected?
What about my bed do I need to cover that up in plastic or remove it as well, what about my dresser that has clothes, do I need to remove those as well, how about electronic devices?
    A

There is no need to cover up furniture mattresses etc. when using Advion Cockroach Gel Bait. There is no way to impede roaches from entering certain furniture until they have been eliminated. Please read our How to Get Rid of Roaches Guide for more information.
