SureGuard is a broad spectrum pre- and post-emergent herbicide for use in lawns and landscaped areas to control common broadleaf and some grassy weeds, it is not labeled to treat for suckers on trees. We do however carry the Monterey Sucker Stopper RTU. Sucker Stopper RTU controls sprouting from pruning cuts, trunks and root stocks. Sucker-Stopper RTU is a ready to use formulation that will last at least three months after the application.

Will SureGuard eliminate poa annua and trivialis in a tall fescue lawn?

A

SureGuard Herbicide can be applied to dormant warm season turfgrass only. It cannot be used on tall fescue.

Q

How long after spraying SureGuard Herbicide will it be safe for dogs?

Dogs should not be present during the application of SureGuard Herbicide until completely dry and then it is safe for their return.

Q

I am a commercial contractor looking for the amount of Suregard to use in a 4 gallon backpack sprayer.
I've been told to use a tablespoon per 4 gallons, but want to make sure that is going to be effective for control.

SureGuard Hebicide is applied at 3/4 tsp-1 1/4 tsp per gallon per the product label calibration chart on page 6.

Asiatic Dayflower weed is taking over my St Augustine grass in grass in South Florida.

SureGuard Herbicide is not labeled to be used on St. Augustine or turfgrass. Quicksilver Herbicide is one of our most popular and is labeled to control dayflower in St. Augustine grass.

I have Bermuda grass taking over my lawn.

SureGuard Herbicide can be applied to established warm season turfgrass only. If you are up north, this would not be effective to apply. Bermuda would be considered a grassy weed, so you need a product that is geared towards grassy weeds and not broadleaf weeds. We want to be clear that bermuda can be suppressed, but it is VERY difficult to kill completely. It will take multiple treatments to finally kill it. But Fusilade II is usually the go to product for this issue. This is directly off of the product label: Apply 0.07-0.14 oz/1000 sq. ft. (3-6 oz./A) along with 0.25% v/v (1/2 pt./25 gals.) of a nonionic surfactant. Application should be made every 28 days when the grass weeds are actively growing. The higher rates may result in temporary discolorization of the desirable turf with recovery in 10-14 days. Do not apply to desirable turf which is under stress. For best results, make applications in spring and fall and avoid treatments during July and August.
Complete control of undesirable grass may take 1-2 growing seasons. We also recommend calling your local county extension office as they usually know the optimum times for spraying lawns in your area.

Can I use SureGuard as a pre-emergent on Bermuda and Zoysia turf grass?
The label states to not use it on turf grass.

SureGuard can only used on Bermuda in its dormant state and is not labeled for use on Zoysia. Dimension 2EW is our most popular broadleaf and grassy weed pre-emergent and can be used on both though.

Do not harvest fruit or nuts from treated trees within one year of application.

Can I spray SureGuard Herbicide on gravel walking paths that are immediately bordered by centipede grass and small trees?
I am concerned mainly about the potential of runoff damage. I want to keep grass and broadleaves from the walking paths, but I don't want to kill the grass and trees that are nearby the paths.

Yes, Sureguard Herbicide can be used in gravel walking paths. We would recommend being very careful when spraying and not spraying when it is windy out so that the product will not drift.

How well would would Sureguard Herbicide work in sand, such as on a volley ball court?

According to the manufacturer, Sureguard Herbicide will work in sand as long as the sand is undisturbed. If the sand is disturbed, the product will break down more quickly and not be as effective.

SureGuard SC has replaced it, and this product can be used to control listed aquatic plants in slow-moving or quiescent waters. SureGuard SC, however, is not labeled to control cattails. We suggest an aquatic glyphosate product for this weed, such as Catt Plex. Be sure you are adding an aquatic-labeled surfactant to your aquatic herbicides, such as Southern Ag Non-Ionic Surfactant.

Will SureGuard Herbicide cause any staining to pea gravel, bluestone, Brick pavers or concrete?
I want to spray on my stone driveway, along with cracks in concrete sidewalk. I would also be spraying my brick pavers walkway. Will SureGuard stain these surfaces?

SureGuard Herbicide is not labeled to kill Ryegrass. Depending on the type of turfgrass you have, you can use a product like Monument 75WG Herbicide (5 x 5 gram packs) that is labeled to control Ryegrass.

I am confused. What grasses can SureGuard Herbicide be used on?
Can I use this as a pre-emergent in lawns of Bermuda, St. Augustine, or Zoyzia? One part of the label says it labeled for warm season turfgrasses and another area lists only dormant Bermuda grass? Can I use it for lawns for weed control or can I not?
