The Outdoor/Indoor Ant Kit contains the professional pest control products you need to control most common species of ants found inside and outside of homes and other structures. This kit is designed primarily for customers who are dealing with active ant infestations both indoors and outdoors.
The kit includes multiple baits to satisfy ants’ varying appetites, as well as two different sprays to treat areas where ants are found.
The Outdoor/Indoor Kit contains refillable bait stations that hold multiple baits at the same time:
Bait Plate Stations are small and clear for discreet and easy indoor use, and Ants No More Stations have a larger capacity and more durability to protect baits outdoors.
Advance 375A Secect Granular Ant Bait is a protein bait that can be used both indoors and outdoors in the provided stations. Advion Ant Gel Stations are easy-to-use pre-baited stations for indoor use which contain a carbohydrate-based bait that appeals to sweet-feeding ants.
Antack Liquid Ant Bait is a versatile ready-to-use liquid ant bait that mimics ants’ honeydew and can be added to outdoor bait stations.
Advion WDG is a spray insecticide that provides long-lasting protection outside, transferring throughout ant colonies for extended control of ant populations.
PT Phantom Pressurized Insecticide is a convenient ready-to-spray aerosol containing the powerful active ingredient Chlorfenapyr. Phantom dries clear with no visible residue, and delivers long-residual non-repellent control. In other words, while it does not provide an immediate knockdown of ants and other pests, it will stay around and kill pests long after you spray it. Plus, it has a transfer effect allowing insects to pick up the residual and spread it to one another through touch and food-sharing, which kills even the pests you don't see.
You will need a pressurized sprayer such as a Chapin 1 Gallon Hand Pump Sprayer to apply the Advion WDG. Browse all of our hand pump sprayers here.

Before applying any insecticides, you should always inspect and prepare the treatment area. Practice good sanitation by eliminating food and water sources that may compete with the baits you are about to apply. Indoor sanitation includes tasks like taking out the garbage daily, vacuuming regularly, and eliminating water sources by keeping sink and tub areas dry and fixing water leaks. Outdoor sanitation includes keeping outdoor trash cans cleaned and away from the structure, removing debris piles where ants like to harbor, and creating a dry zone adjacent to the structure by pulling back mulch, pine straw, or other barriers. It is also crucial to find ways to seal up and eliminate ants’ access points into the structure.
These steps will help not only to treat an existing infestation, but also to prevent future problems. Once you have identified the areas where ants are trailing and could possibly enter the structure, you are ready to use the products in your Ant Control Kit. You can choose to treat either inside or outside first, but since indoor ant infestations are generally more concerning, we suggest starting there.
How to Apply Outdoor/Indoor Ant Kit
INDOORS
STEP 1 - BAIT INDOORS - Bait Plate Stations, Advance 375A Select Granular Ant Bait, Advion Ant Gel Station Insecticide
*Handle bait stations with clean, dry hands or wear gloves. Avoid handling bait with bare hands as this may make baits less palatable.
*Your kit includes a set of 12 bait station bases, 12 lids, and 12 glue dots to be used with the Advance 375A Select. Pull apart the stacks to separate the components. Each base is a tray with two ridged channels so that you can use two different baits in each bait plate station.
*To apply the Advance 375A Select, first unscrew the top to remove the seal under the cap. Then flip open the “spoon” side of the cap and use a dedicated or disposable tool such as a plastic spoon to scoop a small amount of the bait granules into each station. Use 0.5 oz. (1 Tablespoon) of bait in each side of the station. After you have filled your bait plate station trays, snap a lid onto each one by lining up the U-shaped tab and the round tab with the corresponding parts in the tray. Gently press the edges of the lid until it is firmly snapped into the tray, being careful not to tilt the trays, which may cause granule bait to spill. It is not necessary to remove the perforated tab from the bait plate station lids.
*Be sure to store bait in a cool, dry place with the lid securely closed.
*To use the Advion Ant Gel Stations, first remove bait station from packaging. Cut or snap off the tab at the end of the bait station. Activate the bait station by squeezing the gel compartment so the gel inside is moved into the central compartment of the station. Place the bait station near ant trails or other areas where ant activity has been observed.*You should place bait in areas where ant activity has been noticed. It is important to avoid purposefully putting the bait in the middle of an ant trail or onto the ants themselves: this will make the ants avoid the bait and make baiting ineffective. Instead, put the bait near ant activity or next to ant trails. Some examples of places where the bait can be placed are:
*You should check the bait placements once a week and replenish as needed until ant activity has ceased. Be sure to continue reapplying bait as long as the ants accept it!
*Store baits in a dry, temperate area, out of direct sunlight. Baits are best used within a year of opening.
*Bait stations may be wiped clean and washed with warm water for reuse later. Do not use fragrant cleaners, as this may make future bait applications unattractive.
STEP 2 - SPRAY INDOORS - PT Alpine Insecticide Aerosol
*PT Alpine Insecticide Aerosol is a ready-to-use spray that has a powerful active ingredient that provides both quick contact kill of pests.
*Always shake PT Alpine Insecticide Aerosol well before use.
*PT Alpine Insecticide Aerosol can be used with the broadcast spray nozzle or with the included crack and crevice straw. We recommend applying PT Alpine Aerosol with the straw to make more detailed applications. If you have trouble inserting the straw, you may need a pair of needle-nosed pliers to force the straw into the nozzle. (Be sure to do this while the tip is off the can.)
*Apply PT Alpine Insecticide Aerosol to cracks and crevices where ants are likely to enter the structure or to trail, such as around window frames and door frames, where pipes and other utilities enter the structure, in corners, under appliances, and in any other spots where ants may have access into the structure. Avoid spraying areas where baits are or will be placed.
*Keep other people and pets out of the treatment area until the spray has dried.
*Do not spray PT Alpine Insecticide Aerosol or other insecticides directly on top of bait placements or in the same spot where you plan to apply baits.
*PT Alpine Insecticide Aerosol may be reapplied when needed.
STEP 3 - SPRAY OUTDOORS - Advion WDG
*Advion WDG is a water-dispersable granule that must be diluted with water and applied with a sprayer.
*Advion WDG is a non-repellent spray, meaning it has an intentionally slow kill on the individual ant. This gives the ants time to spread the active ingredient throughout their colony through their regular social and food-sharing habits.
*Advion WDG comes in single-dose packets making measuring simple. Add 2 packets per gallon of water to cover 1,000 square feet.
*To create your mixture, fill your sprayer tank 1/3 - 1/2 with water, open your packet of Advion WDG, pour in, and gently agitate the mixture. Finish filling the tank and agitate again before spraying.
*Make only enough solution to use for your current application. Do not store spray solution in your sprayer since it will degrade quickly and may damage the sprayer seals. Most outdoor applications will require 1-2 gallons of finished solution.
*Apply Advion WDG solution around the foundation of the structure, creating a barrier up onto the building itself and out onto the ground around the perimeter of the home. The band of the spray can go up and out as much as you would like as long as the total band does not exceed 10 feet. Also spray areas where ants may enter, such as around window frames, door frames, places where cables, pipes or wires enter the structure, and any other place where you have noticed ants crawling or trailing on the structure.
*If you are using baits outdoors, do not make spray applications directly on top of bait or bait stations.
*Do not broadcast Advion WDG or apply in the yard away from the structure.
*Keep people and pets out of the treatment area until the application is dry, usually about an hour.
*Do not spray on edibles such as vegetable gardens.
*Store concentrate out of direct sunlight and in a temperate area for up to 3 years.
STEP 4 - BAIT OUTDOORS - Ants No More Bait Stations, Advance 375A Select Granular Ant Bait, Antack Liquid Ant Bait
*Allow spray application to dry before placing stations.
*Always use bait in clean, dry bait stations.
*The Ants No More Bait Stations are designed for discreet outdoor use, protecting bait from rain, sunlight, and non-target animals. The two interior compartments allow you to use two different ant baits in each station. You will apply the Advance 375A Select in one side, and the Antack Liquid Ant Bait in the other side.
*This kit contains 12 bait stations, but you may not need to use all of them at once. Stations should be placed approximately 25 feet apart, so most homes may only use 4 stations around the perimeter of the structure. Stations may be placed in other areas of high ant activity, keeping in mind that it is neither necessary nor ideal to eliminate all the ants from an outdoor area.
*To open the stations, line up the arrow on the cylindrical body (there is a dip in the station) with the center mark on the lift tab of the lid.
*Push up on the lid, then push back on the opening so the lid can pop up.
*Apply up to 1-2 oz. (2-4 Tbsp.) of Advance 375A Select bait per station (each side of the station holds 2 oz. of bait). Avoid filling the station completely to the top, allow for a small bit of room at the top to avoid excess moisture from being trapped under the lid and degrading the bait faster.
*Advance 375A Select granules can be used on the ground directly, although we recommend using these applications sparingly since bait is protected from rain and other weathering inside bait stations. Sprinkle evenly in a 1-2 foot wide band adjacent to the structure at a rate of 0.5 oz. (1 tablespoon) of bait per 25 linear feet (4-8 oz. per 200-400 linear feet). Broadcast at a rate of 1 oz per 1.800 sq ft (1.5 lbs/A). To treat mounds, sprinkle approximately 1 oz. (2 Tablespoons) of bait around each ant mound without disturbing ant activity. Apply when the ground is dry and rain is not expected for at least 24 hours.
*Add Antack Liquid Ant Bait to the 2nd compartment. You can pour directly from the bottle by twisting the top open and gently squeezing the liquid into the compartment. Do not overfill station. Replenish bait as needed.
*Replace the lid on filled stations by popping on at any orientation.
*Place stations in the ground up to the first entry and exit holes in the stake.
*Check stations after a few days to determine if placements need to be altered or bait needs to be replenished.
*If baits appear moldy or granules are wet and puffy, replace with fresh bait as needed.
*Bait stations may be wiped clean and rinsed with water as needed. Avoid using harsh cleaners or fragrant soaps as these may make baits less palatable to the ants.
*Store baits in a dry, temperate area, out of direct sunlight. Baits are best used within a year of opening.
