Alpine WSG (water-soluble granule) is a non-pyrethroid, non-repellent broad-spectrum insecticide that uses the active ingredient Dinotefuran. Dinotefuran has been granted Reduced Risk status for public health use by the EPA. Alpine WSG can be used in attics and eaves; on exterior hard surfaces like sidewalks, driveways, patios and porches; on full exterior sides of buildings; indoors as a broadcast interior treatment on carpets, rugs, floors, upholstered furniture, pet beds and resting areas; and off structure as a broadcast application for fleas and ants.
Alpine WSG is effective against a wide range of common insects such as brown marmorated stink bugs, kudzu bugs, ants, fleas, bed bugs, house flies, and cockroaches (including American, German and Turkestan). Alpine WSG has residual activity of 30 to 60 days for most applications.
Alpine WSG requires no rinsing. The finished solution of Alpine WSG is odorless, non-staining, and does not settle once mixed. Alpine WSG does not clog spraying equipment because it dissolves completely in water.

So, been in the pest control industry for 8 years. Ants have really become an issue. When I started years ago, we used Suspend Sc for interior, and Dragnet SFR on exterior for ants. FYI not a good idea using repellents on ants. Switched to a interior phantom/ exterior termidor. It works great, but you are limited to two applications of .06 concentration, or four .03 a year. Had to find something that I could use more often on customers homes who had moisture issues/ conducive conditions. Then I found Alpine WSG. This is the first non repellent that I could use inside and outside, and re apply with minimal restrictions. It truly eliminates ants when used per label. Thank you BASF, for creating something so effective.

Kills German Cockroaches dead
By Mark on 08/02/2019
I used on a fully infested house last week (thousands in one room- ugh) and it knocked them dead in about 5-15 seconds on direct application . There were more entrenched survivors days later - I used a variety of things (new tenants moving in 10 days later) including Suspend - which didnt kill on direct application and Talstar outside which also didn't kill when sprayed directly on the insects. Alpine was the one I felt had the best short and long term results. I found a huge nest in the range and they were all dead by then, though not certain if it was the alpine or the foggers used later (4 times) that got them. Infested 4 year old range went to landfil - it could not be deodorized effectively - no regrets and good riddance. Another nest in Fridge they loved the defrost pan (water supply) entire fridge disassembled and steam cleaned. Lesson learned, Germans roaches will eventually destroy a house because the dead roaches must be removed to remove the odor and they are not always accessible. I was lucky mine were in accessible places.

Alpine WSG

Highly recommended
By Jay on 08/21/2015
Alpine WSG was easiest to use of the several different insecticides we have tried. It dissolved quickly and completely, tank mixed great with other needed chemicals, and is very effective on the bugs we were targeting. We have used it with much success on fleas, mosquitos, and deer flies on different occasions.

Verdict's not in Yet Still Testing
By Stephanie on 03/27/2015
I used the Alpine WSG alongside the Martins IGR (one gallon) for stubborn flea population in my apartment I inherited (I don't have a pet). Since the flea infestation is so severe, I will need another treatment to be sure the combo worked. However it does look VERY promising as the FLEA BITING HAS STOPPED after just one application. Imagine if I had two gallons instead of the one.

Unfortunately Alpine WSG excludes fire ants but is labeled for roaches. Advion WDG Insecticide is labeled for ants in general with no exclusions & is also labeled for roaches

Can I use this with a spray mop? I have fleas and need to do a broadcast application on the floor with an even layer. I have one of those spray mops that has a built in bottle that hold at least half a gallon of water.

Alpine WSG can be mixed with a synergist such as ExciteR Insecticide but it is not generally recommended. ExciteR kills on contact while Alpine WSG leaves a non repellent residual that they take back with them. If you kill them too soon they will not have a chance to take it back with them
Alpine WSG is not labeled for gnats or midges. You may consider using Talstar P Professional Insecticide instead. It will leave a 30 day residual outdoors that will control noseeums that come in contact with treated areas
I'd like to clean my very dusty house and vacuuming is not quite enough to fully clean the crumbs or other food remnants that are left from normal use in the kitchen.
Normal cleaning practices in your home are fine after applying Alpine WSG however we recommend refraining from directly applying cleaning products to the treated areas as the residual could be removed. If treating for German Roaches, repeat applications of Alpine WSG should be reapplied every 14 days as well as replacing roach bait placements. Also, if you are not also using an insect growth regulator to interupt the reproduction cycle, this is recommended especially for German Roaches.
Please view our Roach Control Kits and our How to Get Rid of Roaches Treatment Guide for more information on a successful treatment program.

I will be spraying the interior of my apartment for cockroaches (American and german). Which would be best for this?
Alpine WSG and Temprid FX contain different active ingredients. Alpine WSG is water soluble granule whereas Temprix FX is a liquid concentrate. They are both labeled for cockroaches (as a portion of the treatment of this pest) if used as directed to listed areas. We do offer the Temprid FX in our Roach Control Kits here. For a successful roach control program, please check out our article here.

For example, if I were to mop and the mop touches baseboards, or if I used it on the bathroom baseboards and water came into contact from tub spillage or condensation?
Once the Alpine WSG has been applied and has completely dried, it will not reconstitute if it gets wet again. Alpine WSG has residual activity of 30 to 60 days for most applications. Now if you are mopping up in areas where you had applied your product, then you would have just removed any residual that was there. We usually recommend mopping your floors first, and then applying the product so that you will have the lasting residual.

Hours after spraying sugar ant trails they are still active. How long for knockdown to be noticeable. Sprayed outdoors.
Alpine WSG is a non repellent insecticide therefore will not provide an immediate or quick knockdown of insects. Non repellents are slower acting which is best for social insects such as ants, roaches, etc as it allows the ants to transfer the active ingredient throughout the colony.
This product leaves a 30 to 60 day residual outdoors. Applications should be made to any trails, inside or outside, around doors and windows and other places where ants may enter premises.
For indoor applications, using Alpine WSG along with both an ant bait gel (sweet) and granule bait (protein) in bait plate stations is a very effective treatment.

A hose end sprayer would not be recommended when applying Alpine WSG Insecticide unless you are able to determine how much water the hose end sprayer is putting out every 1000 sq ft.
We recommend using a 1-2 gallon hand pump sprayer to ensure you are using the recommended 1 gallon of water per 1000 sq ft.
Please view the rates per gallon of water below and refer to the product label for full application instructions.
0.1% dilution: 10 grams to 1 gallon of water
0.2% dilution: 20 grams to 1 gallon of water
0.3% dilution: 30 grams to 1 gallon of water
Yes, Alpine WSG would leave behind some residual on a porous surface, however some will inevitably absorb in as well. When treating exterior surfaces, it is recommended to treat the foundation and soil around the exterior perimeter as well as where utilities enter the home, gaps and voids in siding, around windows, doors and other entry points where insects may enter.
View page 7 for more information on the product label.
I am a pest control tech. This product seems ideal for many of my daily needs. But I only have one more question...Does this product have a transfer effect, like phantom and Termidor?
Alpine WSG is not labeled to have a transfer effect like Phantom Termiticide Insecticide.

Alpine was sprayed twice but a few roaches survived. I don't think additional spray of Alpine would work. If I want to switch to temprid SC, how long do I need to wait before spraying temprid on the same crack and crevices?
We would recommend waiting 30 days after an application of Alpine WSG before applying a secondary product. For best roach control, we would recommend one of our roach control kits. It contains all the products needed for best control.
